The editors point to what couples actually choose here. Ceremonies on a clearing — away from the noise, among the trees. Vows by the water, on the glade or under a majestic oak more than a hundred years old. The party in tipi tents, not under a chandelier from a hall catalogue.

Boho is not a costume when the backdrop is a park
A boho wedding in a hotel hall starts with shopping: macramé on a wall that will be beige again on Monday; dried grass in a vase because the window looks onto a car park. At Szumilas the backdrop is trees, water and a glade. Décor has to hold that together, not shout over it.

By the water the surface, the reeds and the wind from the side take the picture, and a structure — a hexagon, an arch, macramé — has to hold and must not block the lake. On the glade there is more sky and more air between the chairs, and the forest is a wall nobody painted. Under the oak there is more than a century of canopy, shade at noon and a petal aisle; guests remember the vows under the boughs, not under a rail.

Two tipis, not one hall
Instead of a hall with a disco ball we stand under canvas. There are two large tipi tents: seats at tables, a dance floor and a bar. For a larger guest list an extra dance tent is added. The evening does not end at the tablecloth — it steps onto the grass, to the deckchairs, under the lights.
